RUSH App Alerts Not Making Sound? Here's the Fix (Android)
Resolve missing push notifications and sound alerts on your RUSH Merchant mobile app
Addressing notification sound issues is a common task in the realm of mobile devices and digital communication. If you are experiencing missing or delayed notification sounds on the RUSH Merchant app, this guide will walk you through the key device and app settings to help resolve the issue.
Before proceeding with further troubleshooting, ensure your device’s sound and notification configurations are properly set.
For Android Devices
1. Check Volume and Sound Settings
- Press the Volume Up button on the side of your phone
- Set the volume to maximum
- Adjust the volume under the Bell Icon (if applicable)
- Confirm the device is not set to Silent or Vibrate mode
2. Verify App Notification Permissions
Navigate to your device settings:
- Go to Settings
- Select Apps & Notifications
- Tap Notification Management
- Search for RUSH Merchant
- Ensure the following are enabled:
- Rush Foreground Notifications
- Rush Background Notifications
3. Configure In-App Settings on the RUSH Merchant App
- Ensure "Alert Me" is toggled ON
- Enable branch access:
- Go to the Home tab
- Tap the arrow at the top
- Select the appropriate branch/es assigned to the logged-in account
4. Advanced Push Notification Settings (App-Level & System-Level)
To prevent silent or delayed notifications, confirm the following settings:
- Pause app activity if unused — should be turned OFF
- Settings > Apps > RUSH Merchant > Unused Apps or Battery > Pause app activity: Turn OFF
- Manage app notification categories — should be turned ON
- Settings > Apps > RUSH Merchant > Notifications > tap each category to manage
5. Additional Recommendations
- Ensure the RUSH Merchant app is updated to the latest version
- If notifications are still not working, try reinstalling the app
- Restart your device after making the changes
- Disable any battery saver or power optimization settings that could restrict app background activity
- Go to Settings > Battery > Battery usage
- Find RUSH Merchant
- Set it to Unrestricted
-
Lock the App in Task Manager (Device Specific)
-
On some phones (e.g., Xiaomi, Huawei), swipe up to access recent apps and lock the RUSH Merchant app to keep it running in the background. This prevents the system from auto-killing it.
- Enable Background Data Usage
- Go to Settings > Apps > RUSH Merchant > Data Usage
- Ensure Background Data is enabled
- Disable Data Saver mode if turned on
6. Confirm Internet Connection is Stable
While it seems basic, some missed push notifications are due to intermittent connectivity:
- Ensure the device is connected to stable Wi-Fi or mobile data
- Avoid using VPNs that may block background app activity
- Temporarily disable any firewall or third-party security apps
By following the steps outlined above, you can ensure that all relevant settings are correctly configured—enabling the RUSH Merchant app to send timely and audible notifications.
