# Enhancing Security with Auto Logout in the Merchant App

## Ensuring the security and privacy of user accounts is a top priority. The Merchant App includes an Auto Logout feature to safeguard accounts from unauthorized access. This feature automatically logs users out after a set period of inactivity.

### Default Auto Logout Duration

By default, the Merchant App logs out users after **6 hours** of activity. This duration is carefully chosen to balance security and user convenience.

### Customizing Auto Logout Duration

We understand that user preferences vary, and some may require different session lengths to suit their usage patterns or security needs. To provide flexibility, users can adjust the auto logout duration to any value between **1 hour** and **12 hours**.

### How to Adjust the Auto Logout Duration

To modify the auto logout time, please contact our support team via

Once the support team enables the feature, follow these steps to adjust the auto logout settings:

1. **Log in** to the CMS.
2. Go to the **‘Store’ Module**.
3. Navigate to the **‘Organization’ Submodule**.
4. Click **‘Advanced Settings’**.
5. Enable **‘MMA Auto Logout’**.
6. Select your preferred **number of hours** for the active session before auto logout.
7. Click **‘Save’** to apply the changes.

By customizing this setting, users can tailor their session durations while maintaining robust security for their accounts.
