Operations Advisory: JCB Cards

merchant-advisoryDear Valued Merchant,

We are writing to inform you that effective June 23, 2025, RUSH will no longer support JCB debit & credit card transactions across all payment channels, including in-store and eStore transactions.

This decision follows recurring issues involving JCB BIN mapping, which have led to failed transactions and poor customer experiences. After internal review and coordination with our payment partner, Xendit, we have decided to discontinue JCB as a supported payment method.

While this change will officially take effect in June, please be advised that JCB transactions are already at risk for failure due to backend limitations (e.g., BIN mapping errors, unsupported MID settings). We encourage you to proactively inform your customers and discourage JCB use during this transition period.

What this means for you:

  • This change has minimal impact, with JCB comprising only 0.4% of YTD card transactions.
  • The RUSH checkout interface remains unaffected for now, as JCB was not visually listed as an accepted card.
  • Customers attempting to use JCB will receive an error response moving forward.
  • We recommend promoting Visa and Mastercard as the primary accepted card options for a seamless payment experience.

If you have any questions or need assistance, you may reach out to our Merchant Experience Team via chat through your CMS or by email at support@rush.ph. We're here to help!

Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership.

Warmest regards,
The RUSH Team
